Every home has one.

You know the spot.

The keys land there. The mail gets tossed there. Shoes somehow gather around it. A bag gets dropped “just for a minute,” and three days later, it’s still sitting there.

Maybe yours is the kitchen counter.

Maybe it’s a chair by the front door.

Maybe it’s that one little corner that seems to collect everything.

And here's the thing: your home is telling you something.

It may not need more space. It may just need a better place for everyday life to land.

A few hooks by the door. A small basket for shoes. A tray for keys and mail. Even a simple console table can turn a constant pile into something that feels intentional.

Nothing fancy. Just functional.

And this is actually something I think about when walking through homes with buyers.

We tend to notice the big things first—the kitchen, the primary suite, the backyard, the beautiful finishes.

But sometimes the little details tell you much more about how a home will actually live.

Where will the backpacks go?

Where will you drop the groceries?

Where will the packages land?

Where do you put the things you reach for every day?

You don't necessarily need a huge mudroom or a dedicated room for everything.

You just need a home that makes sense for the way you live.

Because the best features aren't always the ones that photograph beautifully.

Sometimes, it's simply having a place for the things that come through your front door every single day.
